The Rarest S1 Fortnite Cards

In any hobby, collectors are always searching for the rarest cards in a set or series. With fortnite being new to the collecting community, figuring out what cards are the rarest isn’t so cut and dry. In this article I will share my opinion on which cards are the rarest and will provide the reasoning behind my opinion. 

Please note that these are my opinions based off of research and facts presented by Panini. Please us your own judgement and collect what you want to collect!

Series 1

One of the comments I see the most is “This card is the HARDEST to find! I haven’t pulled any!”. It is time to breakdown series 1 pull rates based on the FACTS provided from Panini. On every pack from series 1, Panini has listed the pull rates. We can only draw conclusions based on the data we have.

There is zero reason to believe that any specific card was printed less than another of the same type/rarity. This means that all epic base cards have the SAME pull rate. All Legendaries have the SAME pull rate. All Holos have the SAME pull rate. These are the facts we have to work with until either Panini release information saying otherwise or enough cards get graded that proves this to be wrong.

You may be one of those people who have experienced never pulling a specific card while having opened 1,000 packs. Let’s breakdown the math on the pull rates and explain how some people may get several copies of a card that you have never pulled.

In a common 6 card pack the pull rate is as follows:

• 1 Rare in every pack
• 1 Epic in every 6 packs
• 1 Legendary in every 12 packs
• 1 Foil in every 24 packs

If you open 1,000 packs, on average you will receive the following:

• 1,000 Rares Cards
• 166 Epic Cards
• 83 Legendary Cards
• 41 Holofoil Cards

This does not mean you will get all different cards…. Here is your chance to receive the 1 card you are looking for based on 1,000 packs:

• Pulling every rare card is practically 100%
• Pulling the specific Epic Card needed is 96%
• Pulling the specific Legendary Card needed is 81%
• Pulling the specific Holofoil Card needed is 18%

Even if you open 1,000 packs, your chance of hitting that one Holofoil you are chasing is just 18%. Feeling Lucky? 

Your best odds are in the Value Packs that have higher pull rates. Here is the Pull rates of 1,000 Value packs:

• Pulling every rare card is practically 100%
• Pulling the specific Epic Card needed is 99.8%
• Pulling the specific Legendary Card needed is 99.8%
• Pulling the specific Holofoil Card needed is 96%

Knowing that most people aren’t buying packs by the thousands, here is the odds based on 1 pack:

To find the specific card you are looking for in a 6 card pack is:

• Pulling the specific rare card is practically 2%
• Pulling the specific Epic Card needed is 0.33%
• Pulling the specific Legendary Card needed is 0.16%
• Pulling the specific Holofoil Card needed is 0.083%

To find the specific card you are looking for in a Value pack is:

• Pulling the specific Epic Card needed is 1%
• Pulling the specific Legendary Card needed is 0.66%
• Pulling the specific Holofoil Card needed is 0.16%
